Israel as God’s Bride
By: Bro. Sid Jones

Lecture Summary (click here)
Israel is described as the bride of Yahweh, “For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.” (Isa 54:4)  Israel’s wickedness is portrayed as that of an unfaithful wife (Eze 16:35). For Israel’s wickedness God brought punishment upon her and put her away in divorce (Eze 16:43; Jer 3:8). However, God’s mercy provides hope for Israel still, as he tells her,  “Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.”  (Eze 16:60).  This analogy describes the history and destiny of Israel.  The Jews were God’s chosen people, beloved for the Father’s sake, who were given the special promises through Abraham.  They were continually wicked, were punished terribly, and were scattered throughout the nations.  Prophecy shows that they will be re-gathered, blessed, purified, saved from final destruction, and united under their king Jesus Christ, whom they will recognize and accept at his second coming. Salvation is of the Jews.  Those of us who wish to be acceptable to Christ must become adopted Jews, spiritual Jews, and grafted into the Jewish olive tree.

A Pure Ecclesia as a Chaste Bride of Christ
By: Bro. Wayne Wolfe

Lecture Summary (click here)
2 Cor 11:2-4 speaks of the ecclesia as a chaste bride to be presented to Christ.  The ecclesia is warned to remain chaste by not being corrupted through receiving a false gospel.  The one hope offered by God for salvation is based on His one true gospel.  The gospel is specific and particular good news that must be understood.  It particularly involves the things concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ.  It cannot be believed before it is understood.  The way to salvation is a straight and narrow way.  There is truth, and there is error.  The truth must be understood, believed and adhered to; and the error must be rejected and opposed.    True belief means believing and adhering to what Christ and the apostles taught.  Obeying the gospel involves understanding and holding to the fundamental elements that compose the gospel, as well as proper walk in life.  Works are essential (covered more thoroughly in tomorrow night’s lecture).  Transformation of character is vital.  To obey the gospel means doing as Christ instructed.  One faith, one hope, one baptism.  “If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached, let him be accursed.” - Paul

The Bride of Christ Hath Made Herself Ready
By: Bro. Lynn Osborne

Lecture Summary (click here)
Rev 21:2-9 gives a beautiful picture of the bride of Christ, the Saints reigning with him in the glorious kingdom.  There is only one narrow path to becoming the Bride of Christ.  The first step is learning and believing the First Principles of the one true gospel: the Things concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ. (Covered more thoroughly in last night’s lecture.)  The next step is baptism into Christ.  Baptism is a complete burial in water, a rebirth to newness of life, a transformation of the mind, a washing away of sins by forgiveness.  But this is only the beginning. Then we must love and serve God with our entire life.  We must be obedient to all Christ’s commandments, continually study God’s word, remain separate from the world and all its ways, and continue steadfast unto the end.  When we fall short, as we surely will, we must repent.  Only then we may hope to receive God’s grace and become the bride of Christ.  Grace will be the basis by which salvation will be given; but, those who have not done good works will not receive that grace. We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ and be judged according to what we have done, whether it be good or bad.

Marriage Supper of the Lamb – God’s Kingdom
By: Bro. Lenny Naglieri

Lecture Summary (click here)
The kingdom of heaven is likened by Jesus unto a certain king who had made a marriage for his son, even the King of nations (Jer. 10:7), the only potentate who has provided a feast in the marriage supper of the Lamb, when the Son of God, Jesus of Nazareth, will be united to his Bride, the one body, the ecclesia, when all the called, and chosen, and faithful will have the distinguished honour of sitting down with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the prophets in the kingdom of God at the King’s table, and drink of the fruit of the vine thereat.  This marriage feast of the Lamb initiates the Kingdom of peace and righteousness, when the whole earth is to be ruled by Christ and his Bride.  This Kingdom is the central theme of all promise and hope from the beginning. It is the subject of all the prophets, the very definition of the gospel.  Jerusalem is to be the world Capital. All mankind will know, serve, and obey the One True God.  There will be worldwide peace and safety.  All sin, violence, crime, and oppression will be rigidly suppressed.  Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.

God Manifestation in the Christ Groom and His Bride
By: Bro. Steve Armstrong

Lecture Summary (click here)
Being begotten of God, and inhabited and used by God through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, Jesus was Emmanuel, God with us, God manifest in the flesh—yet was, during his natural life, of like nature with mortal man, being made of a woman, of the house and lineage of David, and therefore a sufferer, in the days of his flesh, from all the effects that came by Adam’s transgression, including death that passed upon all men, which he shared by partaking of their physical nature.  When he returns to the earth as the Groom and is united to his redeemed and glorified Bride, the saints, they together will be the  “one body,” a manifestation of God and multitudinous Christ who will establish and rule God’s Kingdom for the millennium.
