Jesus Christ: His True Nature and Sacrifice
By: Bro. Lee Smith

Lecture Summary (click here)
Jesus Christ was God’s only begotten son - not a second person of a “Trinity.” Trinity concept totally false. Christ’s true nature was one of mortality, just as all mankind. He did not pre-exist before his birth. He was made of a woman - made of flesh and blood and therefore partook of our nature, as a representative of the human race. He was not, nor did he die as, a substitute. He was tempted in all points like as we are - yet without sin. He learned obedience by the things which he suffered. He lived in total obedience to the will of his Father - of which will he came to do - namely to condemn sin-in-the flesh; that is, to destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil. Christ was in need of cleansing and redemption himself. He had to save himself (by the shedding of his own blood) first, in order to provide the way of salvation for mankind. Christ’s flesh was like ours - in need of cleansing. Therefore he did not have “clean flesh.” Christ had the enemy with him at all times. And he, of necessity, had to have had the enemy with him on the cross in order to get victory. It is essential to understand Christ’s true nature and what was really accomplished in his death and sacrifice.

The Spirit: What is its meaning?
By: Bro. Matthew Hughes

Lecture Summary (click here)
The meaning in Hebrew and Greek. How it pertains to man, as life-giving energy, to the universe, and to God, as His power. - Holy Spirit is a separate and intensified power for particular purpose. - Free spirit, everywhere present. - The Spirit never appears as a person: always a manifestation of God’s power. - The Spirit is sometimes spoken of as “it”. God would never be called “it”. Christ was born of Mary by the Spirit; yet he was the Father’s son, not the Spirit’s. - What having the spirit of Christ means. What having a Spiritual life means.

Knowledge Versus Ignorance: When am I Responsible?
By: Bro. Sid Jones

Lecture Summary (click here)
The Bible convincingly teaches that knowledge makes one accountable to God. Those who are enlightened to God’s will shall come forth from the grave to a personal account. There is an appointed day of Judgment. Only exception to resurrectional accountability is ignorance. Disobedience will not shield one from personal accountability. The omission of willful rejecters is a strained unsupported theory. Therefore neither the fact of once existing, nor the act of baptism make for resurrectional responsibility. Scriptural terms for the rejected clearly include willful rejectors. The scriptures often speak with only the approved in view. The scriptures often use the term ‘resurrection’ as a complete process. The Gospel call is a direct comment. The flesh hates thoughts of ‘command’ and ‘Judgment’. “He that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” “This is condemnation, that light is come into the world.” How 1st Corinthians 15 does not teach that baptism makes resurrectional responsibility.

To be Saved - Works and More are Necessary
By: Bro. Lenny Naglieri

Lecture Summary (click here)
“Belief in Christ” encompasses certain things including knowing, understanding and holding to what Christ taught. To be saved, we must “take up our cross and follow him”. We must have faith in him. But faith without works is dead. Works is faith in action. We must “work out our salvation with fear and trembling.” He that endureth unto the end, the same shall be saved. False Christendom makes mockery of “what is necessary for salvation.” A knowledge of the truth is essential. One cannot “believe in the gospel” until the gospel is known. Salvation will be dependent upon understanding these basic elements of the gospel. The works we must do must include compliance to divine commands; “If you love me, keep my commandments” (John 14). Grace will be the basis by which salvation will be given, but those who have not done good works, which is a manifestation of faith, will not receive that grace.
